Printly
A photo of a document usually prints badly: grey background, a shadow from your own hand, text that comes out muddy. Printly fixes that in one step, so what leaves the printer looks like a scan.
Coming soon to Google Play.
What it does
Finds the page
Printly detects the edges of the document in frame and corrects the perspective, so a photo taken at an angle comes out square.
Removes shadows
Uneven lighting and the shadow of the phone itself are flattened out, leaving an even white background instead of a grey gradient.
True black and white
Text is pushed to solid black on solid white — the mode that prints crisply and uses the least ink. Greyscale and colour are there when you need them.
Multi-page documents
Shoot pages back to back, reorder or retake any of them, then export the whole set as a single PDF.
Prints directly
Send straight to any printer your phone can already see through Android's built-in print system. No extra driver, no companion app.
Takes shared images
Photos already on your phone, or sent to you in a chat, can be shared into Printly and cleaned up the same way.
Privacy, in one paragraph
Printly has no internet permission. It is not able to send your documents anywhere, even if it wanted to. Every step — edge detection, shadow removal, black-and-white conversion, PDF export — runs on your phone's own processor. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no servers of ours involved at any point.
